We hope to invite more educators as facilitators for in-service days, training sessions, and support to offer various experiences and perspectives. To facilitate, educators do not need to be “experts” in Anti-Racist Education (ARE). They only need to have some experience and commit to educating themselves on ARE by attending professional development conferences and seeking more knowledge via reading, listening, and implementing strategies in their classrooms, offices, and schools. Facilitators also need to commit to being open and vulnerable to the students they interact with and the educators they help. They will be at different phases of their ARE development, which we believe is an asset. No matter how much experience one has implementing ARE, they will always be learning and reflecting on their successes and their struggles. That is one of the most important lessons they can teach other educators.
